Operating independently from standard computer networks, these industrial controllers communicate via local, hardwired connections. If a primary facility server loses power or connection, the smart lock gateways continue working on battery backups, following strict fail-secure parameters (doors stay locked to prevent unauthorized egress). Command operators can execute centralized lockouts or emergency open overrides through high-contrast touchscreen terminals in secure control rooms.

The system’s terminal screens provide instant feedback, showing real-time door status (Locked, Unlocked, Ajar, or Tamper Alert) with clean, high-contrast symbols. This ensures operators have clear visibility of the facility's physical status, helping security teams identify lock failures or tampering attempts in millisecond timelines.
